The New Ninth

The New Ninth

At our northern border, the district houses some of LA's most important attractions, including the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC), Crypto.com Arena and the LA LIVE complex. Thousands of people visit Exposition Park every day – whether to take in a soccer game or concert at the Banc of California Stadium or venture across the way to visit the Rose Garden, Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the California Science Center, the California African American Museum (CAAM) and coming soon the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (currently under construction).

If music is what you’re into, take a trip down memory lane along the historic Central Avenue Corridor, once home to so many world renowned Jazz musicians. And if nature is what attracts you, come visit Augustus F. Hawkins Nature Park – a real green oasis in the middle of the urban landscape – as well as the South Los Angeles Wetland Park, which is a testament to sustainable landscaping and water conservation. With the Metro Blue Line weaving its way through much of the district, it is easy for residents and visitors to make their way around the community. The district is also home to dozens of local schools, and premier higher learning institutions including the renowned University of Southern California, Mount St. Mary's University and Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC).

From expanding and upgrading parks and community facilities to attracting new businesses and launching initiatives that help make our communities safer for residents and families, Councilman Price is excited to help lead a transformation for our community that will help increase the quality of life of our residents.
