The Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved a motion that was introduced on March 15 by Councilmember Price to bring much needed resources to those impacted by the 27th Street fireworks explosion. This will include additional funding for temporary housing and case management. In his remarks to the Council, Councilmember Price made clear his office will never abandon the victims of this tragedy. Since day one, he and his staff have led recovery efforts for neighbors: securing emergency funding for housing, overseeing repair efforts for over dozens of homes, providing financial assistance, and even opening a Neighborhood Resource Center. The Councilmember also introduced an amending motion instructing any necessary City departments for a report back on comprehensive assistance to those impacted by the incident.
