Barrier Breakers: From Jackie to Pumpsie

The Los Angeles Public Library is proud to present “Barrier Breakers: From Jackie to Pumpsie, 1947-1959,” a traveling exhibit that tells the story of the Negro Leagues on display now through Feb. 19 in the Getty Gallery at the Downtown Central Library at 630 W. 5th St., 90071.

“Barrier Breakers” showcases the history of the Negro Leagues, highlighting the obstacles of prejudice and social injustices the players had to endure to how their ability to persevere through adversity led them to change the face of Major League Baseball.
