Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Hello Neighbors,

On Sept. 15 we mark the start of Hispanic Heritage Month - a time to pause and reflect on the history, significance and accomplishments of Latino communities past and present. District 9 is currently about 80 percent Latino with a high proportion of foreign-born residents and mixed-immigration status families. I am incredibly honored to represent a district that is majority Latino, defining a culture that has gifted us with a wealth of tradition, values, and contributions.

I’m also proud to say that Team Price is comprised of two-thirds women of color, two-thirds Latino, as well as formerly undocumented immigrants, each bringing their unique perspectives and experiences. I heavily rely on my staff’s opinions, ideas and solutions to move our District in a more just and equitable direction.

On this special occasion, please join Team Price in recognizing the diverse cultures that make for stronger and more vibrant communities everywhere and celebrate the independence days of several Latin American countries, including: Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Sincerely,

Curren D. Price, Jr.
