On Wednesday, the Los Angeles City Council adopted an ordinance 13-1 that amends the Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) to make proof of COVID-19 vaccination requirements optional for indoor covered spaces. This move aligns with the direction of the Los Angeles County Health Department. Since the vote was not unanimous, the ordinance will need to be approved once more by the City Council. Along with this, the City Council approved recommendations from the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA) that requests the City Attorney to draft an Ordinance that repeals various COVID-19 State of Emergency period actions. Some of the actions that will be rescinded include littering of personal protective equipment (PPE). These moves have been made as the City transitions to normal operations. Click here for more.
