South Los Angeles has officially made its mark in the E-sports world with the grand opening of the state-of-the-art SoLA Technology and Entrepreneurship Center Powered by Riot Games.
Located in the SoLa Beehive campus in District 9, this center and its newest expansion, the completion of the SoLa E-Sports Arena and Gaming Center, provides free technology education to the community and will train 1,000 young people a year. To date, about 600 students have enrolled. The newest addition of the 3,000 square foot arena features 40 high-end gaming PCs, a streaming studio, event space and stage.
"I am excited to see how South Central pushes the boundaries of the E-sports world and eager to see our youth flourish with this incredible and innovative center. A special thank you to Marc and Ashley Merrill of Riots Games for their commitment to creating these innovative and state of the art opportunities for our community,” said Councilmember Price.
