The City Council approved a Transportation Committee Report that asks the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) to complete traffic studies on 155 uncontrolled sidewalks in the City and provide recommendations on traffic control measures, the costs associated with the improvements, as well as staffing needs. The City has over 400 uncontrolled crosswalks and have been working for years to install safety measures. Fatal accidents are far too common when pedestrians are involved. The goal of this project is to do everything possible to eliminate pedestrian deaths. Click here for more.
