The City Council unanimously approved the Public Works and Budget and Finance Committee report relative to a contract with Tranzito-Vector, LLC to procure, install, upgrade, maintain transit shelters, and to continue development of shade structures and associated amenities and procure advertising for the structures. It also instructs the Bureau of Street Services (BSS) to work with each Council District to develop an implementation plan for transit shelters in their District that ensure no District is left behind. BSS would be required to report to Council on a monthly basis with the status of the Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program, including how many shelters have been installed each week in each Council District. Installing more shelters is especially important during the heat waves our City has been experiencing over the last couple of years.
