The LA City Council approved Mayor Garcetti’s appointment of Ted Allen as the permanent City Engineer coming off the heels of General Manager Gary Lee’s retirement. In the last eight years, Mr. Allen has served as the Deputy City Engineer over the Development Services Program, which includes all of the public right-of-way permitting and land development functions within the Department of Engineering, as well as the two divisions that oversee technology. Allen will now go on to lead the department with more than 20 years of experience in the field of Engineering.
